Delaney loves attention, and Murphy is a reliable audience. Here’s how the daily dance goes at our house:

Delaney rocks out in her bouncy seat. Then she pauses to make sure Murphy is still watching.

Then she squeals and thrashes about some more. Then she pauses to make sure Murphy is watching.

Then she bounces some more and flails her hands. Then she pauses to make sure Murphy is watching.

This is the only time Murphy can relax these days – when Delaney is contained in the Pack ‘n Play. Now that she’s very mobile and very fast, she is constantly chasing him to pull his tail and grab his feet!

9-months old

She had a very successful 9-month doctor visit today. It won’t come as much surprise that this girl is super long and super thin! She’s measuring in the 95% for height and 20% for weight. But her eating and sleeping are right on target, so she’s growing like she should be.

And we spotted two new teeth during the visit! She is getting in her “top lateral incisors” (meaning that the two front middle teeth are still to be seen). The doctor said that it’s actually rather rare to get those teeth in before the front middle ones, but the same thing happened to her own kids. So Delaney is in good company.

She was checked for anemia (she’s fine) and received her second flu shot. After just a few tears, she was back to babbling at the doctor and trying to lick her stethoscope in no time.

There were three newborn babies (all within five days old) at the doctor’s office today. Wow – it really showed just how much Delaney has grown in nine months. I’ve already forgotten just how tiny she used to be! Now she’s a busy bee who loves to rock out in her bouncy seat!

More fun with Holly and Will

I cannot say just how much we lucked out finding Holly and Will. Holly takes such great care of Delaney while I work, and Will and Delaney always have a blast playing together. Because of them, Delaney has the best social life out of the three of us!

She had fun with them at the aquarium, where Will counted all of the fish for Delaney.

They also had a great time at the zoo with Holly’s mom (Delaney is making her new “face of the month” – her pucker face).
